    Come raise a glass and Toast to 20 Years of empowering communities, changing lives, and service in Milwaukee, through the movement of the National Urban League Young Professionals and the National Urban League!  

    Started in 1998, the Milwaukee Urban League Young Professionals serves as the oldest Young Professional organization in the City of Milwaukee. We're calling on alumni, current and friends of the Urban League to celebrate our 20 years while also looking ahead to 20 more!

    Congratulations to our newly elected officers for the 2019-2021 term!

    We look forward to their leadership and service to MULYP!  

    Installation of our new officers will take place:

    Thursday, August 15, 2019, 6:00pm

    MSOE Alumni Partnership Center, 1120 N. Broadway.  

    Hear updates on the direction of the organization, along with highlights from our National Urban League Conference held in Indianapolis last month!  We ask for your support of our new slate of officers by joining and or recommitting to YP and express our gratitude and appreciation for the work of our outgoing leaders.

    The Milwaukee Urban League Young Professionals (MULYP) is introducing an exciting Personal & Professional Development Conference.  We are taking action to develop and help YP's answer the questions on, What does legacy mean to you? What does it mean to create impact in your community? Does the legacy you want to leave behind align with the impact you are creating? No matter where you are on your journey, you can always create impact in the world around you and leave a strong legacy along the way.  This year's conference theme is Legacy of Leadership: Impact Driven Philanthropy. 

    The MULYP Personal & Professional Development Conference will be held on Saturday, September 21 from 8:30AM-2:30PM at the historic Harley Davidson Garage, located at 400 W. Canal Street. 

    SPECIAL GUESTS:

    Our goal with this conference is to engage our target community in topics appealing to the ambitious millennial. Training sessions will be centered on learning what it means to impact your community through your actions, time and talent with our amazing workshops and a motivating address from our keynote speaker that will captivate the imagination of YPs and promote the opportunities that Milwaukee offers.

    The HaRUNbee 5K Walk/Run for Healthy Birth Outcomes was designed to raise awareness and to prevent unhealthy birth outcomes across the nation. Organized by the National Coalition for Healthy Black Families (NCHBF), in partnership with the City of Milwaukee, the mission of the HaRUNbee Walk/Run is to promote wellness by encouraging families to stay healthy and fit, both mentally and physically.

    HaRUNbee 5K serves as the kickoff event for the 2019 Bronzeville Week. Bronzeville Week, hosted by Alderwoman Milele A. Coggs, is the City of Milwaukee's annual celebration of African-American culture, history, art, commerce and entertainment. The week-long event takes place August 3-10, 2019.

    The 2019 National Urban League Conference takes place July 24-27 in Indianapolis, Indiana is just around the corner. Don't miss the action, with some of the conferences confirmed speakers and entertainment!

    This will be summer's hottest conference for young black professionals as the National Urban League Young Professionals Celebrates 20 Years! This conference is a premier experience for all ages, drawing thousands of attendees from across the country for critical dialogue, networking and entertainment.

    Born in Milwaukee WI, Charles is the second oldest of seven and a two time U.S. Army combat veteran currently still serving in the Army Reserve as a HVAC specialist; yet his passion is with young children and education. Charles is currently a student studying early childhood education at Milwaukee Area Technical College where which he currently holds a position on the Liberal Arts Dean's list. Charles's hobbies include volunteering traveling and freelance modeling. He chose to join the ranks of MULYP to network & learn with like minded individuals and hopefully become a service to the league and the community we serve as well. 

    Charles created Tu'lage reality LLC in 2018, named after his younger brother who passed in 2008. Tu'lage reality focuses on the 53206 zip code with efforts to obtain and renovate the inner city homes in the communities he grew up in. Charles is honored to be Member of the Month with such a organization.  Thanks a lot MULYP for this opportunity & platform!

    Join us for our MULYP Elections Meeting! We will be voting for the new elected officers for the 2019-2021 term! The new President, Vice President, Parliamentarian, Treasurer, and Secretary will be elected, hear from candidates running for each position.

    If you are a current member and unable to attend the July 18 election meeting, an absentee ballot can be provided to you upon request, absentee ballots are due to the committee by July 17.

    *Only members who joined or renewed their membership dues by July 1, 2019 are eligible to vote!*

    A Justice Department official confirmed to ABC News on Tuesday that the 2020 census will be printed without inclusion of a citizenship question, marking the end of the controversial effort.

    June 25, 2019 marked six years since the U.S. Supreme Court decision in the Shelby v. Holder case which gutted key provisions of the the Voting Rights Act of 1965, subjecting millions of voters to discrimination and disenfranchisement.

    Join MULYP and the National Urban League Young Professionals (NULYP) as we urge Congress to restore the Voting Rights Act by passing the Voting Rights Advancement Act (H.R. 4 and S. 561).
