    Join us for our February General Body focused on the importance of self care!

    Thursday, February 20, 2020

    6:00PM-7:30PM

    MSOE, Alumni Partnership Center, 1120 N. Broadway

    We'll hear from guest speaker Marrika Rodgers a Milwaukee native, and licensed professional counselor, published author, national speaker and a celebrated radio talk show host. She has been serving the community for over 19 years through various capacities, a true pioneer and innovator of her generation. As a mental health clinician/business consultant, she is known for empowering others by providing effective tools with tangible results. She lives a life dedicated towards serving others. 

    She recently launched her new brand, Living Well w/Marrika which is a wellness enterprise that encompasses several branches of holistic services. As a lifelong learner, Marrika holds a Bachelor’s of Business Administration & General Management, Masters of Science – Professional Counseling and currently in pursuit of her Doctorate in Business Psychology. On this journey called life, she will continue to Create, Innovate and Pioneer, by creating new opportunities, developing new innovative ideas and pioneering the way for others.

    Be sure to head over to www.myvote.wi.gov to see your February sample ballot, and your polling location. Don't forget to take your Photo ID with you to the polls on February 18!!

    What is “Join Week”?

    National Urban League Young Professionals' Join Week is designed to increase awareness and involvement in NULYP chapters by young professionals in their communities through a concentrated “blitz” of activity. The theme of Join Week 2020 is "Our Moment Our Movement". Our chapters are know to develop leaders for the National Urban League movement and its affiliates, in our communities and in the business world. You can look forward to a week's worth of dynamic activities.  Be sure to block your calendar from February 3 - February 9 and bring a friend, colleague, neighbor with you! Follow our social media pages @ tmulyp on Instagram, and Milwaukee Urban League Young Professionals on Facebook.

    Who is invited to attend?

    Everyone! We invite Members, prospective members, and supporters to attend each and every event! 

    How do I become a member of MULYP?

    Easy! Visit this link and follow the steps! www.tmulyp.org/join.  We'd love to welcome you to the YP team!  Attend any of our events, or meetings and complete the application.

    I’m not able to attend a Join Week event this week. When are your meetings typically held?

    The third Tuesday of each month! February 20, March 19, April 16 etc.  Add the date to your calendar or feel free to follow up with our Membership team at membership@tmulyp.org!

    Special Black History Month 2020 Event!

    This special edition of Groove Theory, curated by musical director Tim Ricketts and The Band Bazaar, features a collection of Milwaukee's hottest bands performing the music of D'Angelo live on Saturday February 29, 2020 at the Cooperage located at 822 S. Water Street.  Show starts at 8:00pm

    We pause to reflect on the life and legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his many contributions to create a more just and equitable society.  We stand on the foundation of his life's work and sacrifice.  In that spirit we are charged with working to get us closer to the Dream that he envisioned for America.  We continue the fight through service as leaders and drum majors for change.  Join with us in committing to being the change that we want to see.
